Grained for families
Sunday doesn’t have to be the only day.
Most children hear a Bible story once a week and nobody at home knows which one. Grained for Families gives you the same lessons their Sunday School would teach — to read together, at your own pace, in your own front room. You don’t need a church to start.
📖 Lessons written to be read aloud
Every lesson has the story, the big idea behind it, a memory verse, something to do together and a short quiz — with the answers, because a parent who can’t see the answer can’t help. Tell us your child’s date of birth and the right age group arrives ready to read. They move up on their own as they grow.
- Age groups from nursery to eighteen
- The passage opens beside the lesson — the whole Bible is built in
- Put them in whatever order suits your family
- Mark one done when you’ve read it together

🌱 Something they can watch grow
Children don’t measure faith in lessons completed, so Grained doesn’t show them a progress bar. Each child grows a tree through seven stages — seed, roots, sprout, sapling, tree, fruit, harvest — and reaching harvest plants it in their forest to keep. Lessons read and verses learned move it along.
- A tree per child, and a forest of the years behind them
- They pick their own avatar
- Badges you give — for a kindness, a verse, a prayer
- Make up your own badges for whatever your family wants to mark

📋 You decide what comes next
A Sunday School teaches a set order because thirty children move together. Your family doesn’t have to. Drag the lessons into the order you want to read them — put Christmas in December, keep a favourite near the top, move the hard one to a week when you have more time.
- Drag to reorder, or use the arrows on a phone
- A separate order for each child
- Nothing expires and nothing is late — there is no schedule to fall behind

👨👩👧 One family, two phones
Add the other parent and they see the same children, the same lessons and the same progress. There’s no main account and no second-class one — whoever reads the lesson tonight marks it done, and the other one sees it.
- Both parents, one family account
- Works offline once a lesson is open — a car, a caravan, a bad signal
- Add it to your home screen and it opens like an app

If your church joins
Your family comes with you.
If your church starts using Grained, they can invite your family across. You decide whether to accept. Your children keep everything they’ve done at home, and from then on you see what they’re being taught on a Sunday as well — the lessons, the memory verses and how they’re getting on.
Until then, nothing about your family is visible to any church. A church can only ask; it can’t add you.
What we ask for
As little as we can manage.
A name to show
A first name or a nickname is enough. We don’t ask for your child’s surname, address, school or photograph.
A date of birth
Only so the right lessons arrive, and so they move up as your child grows. Nothing else uses it.
A way out
Ask us and your family account and everything in it is deleted. Not hidden — deleted.
We’re piloting with a few families first.
Grained for Families is new, and we’d rather get it right with a handful of families than launch it at everybody. It’s free during the pilot. Tell us a little about your family and we’ll be in touch.
Start this Sunday, at home.
Leave your email and we’ll be in touch to set your family up. Free while we pilot, and you don’t need a church — if yours joins Grained later, your family can come across and keep everything.
No card, and no church needed. We’ll reply personally.
